Job Summary
The Club Business Manager is responsible for helping grow, and streamline business support of, Costco and additional Club customers. This includes holding relationships with stakeholders externally while managing the workflow of club-related business operations internally. This includes, but not limited to, internal planning and forecasting, item setup and deal paperwork (National and International), Costco Demo Services management, and customer service and logistics support. Internally, this role will play a critical part in cross-functional planning and sales operations meetings and closely partner with Marketing on key initiatives to drive consumer and brand success in the Club channel. This individual must be a doer, motivated, inspired, organized, creative, willing to roll up his/her sleeves with a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit in chasing growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Account Management:
Maintain and grow relationships with key stakeholders in-person and digitally including Club buyers, buyer’s office, sampling services, charitable customer event teams and more.
Ensure timely execution of internal planners, customer item set-up, promotional planning, and pricing updates across internal tools and customer platforms.
Sales Operations:
Manage item forecasts, inventory levels, and sales performance.
Monitor and analyze POS data and provide actionable insights.
Collaborate with supply chain, marketing, and finance teams to ensure operational alignment. This role plays a critical part in cross-functional planning and sales operations meetings.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare regular sales reports (daily and weekly), margin analyses, accruals, and forecasting updates.
Evaluate program ROI and provide recommendations for improvement.
Track national and regional program commitments and build calendars to communicate commitments and needs to cross-functional partners.
Customer Business Growth Plans:
Develop and execute annual account plans including sales targets, promotional calendars, and new item launches in partnership with VP of Sales and Marketing.
Identify and pursue growth opportunities and use relationship-based selling to identify incremental growth potential (including but not limited to additional rotations, product opportunities, etc.) in partnership with VP of Sales and Marketing.
Internal Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of club-specific programs and requirements. Advocate for customer needs/sentiment and as needed issue resolution.
Coordinate with logistics and customer service to resolve operational challenges quickly and effectively.
Closely partner with Marketing on key initiatives to drive consumer and brand success in the Club channel.
Food Safety Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Entrepreneurship or a related field.
5+ years of experience in CPG sales, account management, or business development.
2-3 years of experience with Costco required, specifically Costco Business Manager level preferred. Additional Club experience preferred (Sam’s Club, BJ’s).
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data tools (e.g., IRI, Nielsen, Retail Link).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Team-oriented with experience in high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
Naturally curious, with an appreciation for ambiguity and the ability to embrace the "test and learn" mentality in pursuit of continuous improvement.
Willingness to travel up to 20%.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with online and in-store club retail programs.
Experience working with ECRM, Vendor Portals, and item set-up platforms.
Understanding of P&L management and retail math.
