Job Description

Shipping Team Lead:

Shipping Team Lead job includes managing and executing customer and Utz shipping schedules, managing shipping clerks by providing direction for loading, securing pickup appointments per schedules with Utz freight partner and/or customer freight forwarder. 

Duties:

• Booking of shipping schedules with Utz freight forwarder or customer freight forwarder.
• Manage shipping documentation and post shipments in Navision.
• Coordinate shipping clerks for loading and unloading trucks per schedule.
• All other duties deemed appropriate by management.
• They may be required to work odd hours that sometimes include evenings, weekends and overnight shifts, and typically need to be available when shipments are delivered or sent out.

Skills:

• Shipping team lead must be strong communicators because they often pass along important distribution information to delivery drivers, co-workers and supervisors. 
• They need to know how to operate the equipment used to assist with handling merchandise and possess the strength and stamina to lift boxes and packages on their own. 
• The shipping team lead should also have a basic understanding of math, as many are expected to fill out and check shipping documents. 
• Along with those traits, shipping team lead typically needs to be highly organized, capable problem-solvers and, if need be, keen negotiators.

Education and Qualifications:

Required to have a high school diploma.
